The Creator

Hello! I’m Aime. I’m a front-end developer, foodie, and cat lady living in New York City. I was born in a small city near New Orleans, Louisiana to a Chinese mother and a German father. At an early age my mother taught me how to bake, but it wasn’t until college, when I had to fend for myself, that I learned to cook. Before I left for school, I asked my mom to write down all of her recipes, so I could tuck them away in a binder, and make all the dishes that reminded me of home. I spent countless hours on weekends learning how to bake my own bread, how to make the perfect chicken curry, and how to temper chocolate for chocolate covered strawberries.

Over the years, I mentioned the idea of a food blog many times, but never seriously pursued it until 2015. In 2017, I spent each month cooking and eating a different cuisine, which turned out to be quite ambitious and stressful. Now, to continue to challenge myself and learn new techniques I’ll continue to share my recipes and experiences, but at my own pace.
